"DRELLA'S BASEMENT"
Drella’s Basement was a co-hosted, three-part experimental exhibition series that took place in 2023, showcasing the work of art students and emerging artists across alternative and DIY venues in Dublin. Born out of a collaboration with artist Lauryn Creamer Nwadike, the project emerged in response to the limited opportunities available to artists still in college, and the scarcity of accessible, non-commercial creative spaces in the city - particularly those that allow artists to exhibit without submission fees.

Rooted in a post-pandemic desire to build community beyond the digital world, Drella’s aimed to cultivate connection and collaboration among early-career artists. The series brought together a diverse range of practices - including painting, printmaking, photography, writing, music, and performance - highlighting the richness and energy of Dublin’s independent art scene.
